Sasha Allen who is an openly transgender female performer who made it to the Live Shows on the Voice set the record straight in their first appearance. She was the first in the past 21 seasons of The Voice contests Sasha was able to get past into the Battle Rounds. The Newtown, Conn. duo is now in the Top 8 of the contest! Sasha revealed that he's transgender as part of their Blind Auditions package. He said to Parade.com it took some thought to come up with the idea. Sasha said it was hard to decide because he had to show a very fragile side of himself public in front of millions. He transitioned when the time was when he was in high school. "But this past week during the fan week], watching people's support and responses and how that has impacted individuals really proved that the decision was worthwhile and the right decision regardless of the fact that it was hard to come up with." "'Have You Ever Seen the Rain' is a song that has been on a list of songs that we've always wanted to play on the show for a many years," Sasha told Parade.com. We performed the song prior to The Voice even existed. We were thrilled when we got the song. The track was something we already knew, and we had many ideas to arrange. They were awestruck."
