Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with soul, gospel music and R&B. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe. She has also performed at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine, whose given name has been given as Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta now, Sunshine is born in Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she began her career as a musician by playing and singing at the local church. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical instruction began with Atlanta's R&B Scene. In 2005 she was hired to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) approached her for the position of choral conductor of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was noticed by all of the country during four performances per day at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be invited to sing for the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
